What is the difference betwenn AGP and VGA graphics?
I see many games recommending AGP graphics but i have VGA.What’s the difference?
Those are two different terms.
“AGP” refers to a type of slot/video card. You usually have to pop open your case and look at the expansion slots to see what your motherboard is capable of handling.
“PCI-e” is a newer type of video card slot, and after that you start to go to multiple video cards – which I believe is called ‘SLI’.
“VGA” on the other hand refers to the standard jack that your monitor plugs into “Video Graphics Array”.
Depending on what kind of computer you have, when you bought it, and how much you paid for it, your video card might be built into the motherboard (easy to tell, because the monitor plug will be attached to the motherboard). If the monitor plug is located on a card plugged into a slot, then it might be PCI (old), AGP (newer), or PCI-e (pci express) newest (that are common anyway).
Some motherboards that have built in video will also have a slot to let you plug an upgraded video card into – but you are limited by what slots you have.
If you want to upgrade, then you might need to find someone who knows what they are doing to check and see what your options are. You might not be able to do it without replacing the motherboard, and possibly more.
